How to choose among three connection types
IEPL dedicated lines, relays, and direct connections are not simply ranked from better to worse. They use different routing structures and suit different distances, network conditions, and tasks.
For stability-focused tasks
IEPL Dedicated Line
An IEPL dedicated line sends user traffic through an organized international route before connecting to an exit in the destination region. This reduces unpredictable detours on public international routes and usually keeps the path more focused, making it suitable for extended streaming, online meetings, file synchronization, and long-running remote connections. When evening congestion, frequent fluctuations on standard entry points, or obvious international detours occur, try an IEPL entry point in the same region first.
Dedicated-line resources generally cost more to provision and maintain than standard routes, so they are better reserved for important tasks rather than selected permanently just because they carry a “dedicated line” label. If the destination is nearby and the direct route is already stable, continuing with direct access may be simpler. Choose based on whether the task remains stable, not on the route name alone.
Best for: extended streaming, remote meetings, stable work, and longer connections
Balanced routing
Relay Route
A relay route first connects to a nearby entry point or one with better routing conditions, then forwards traffic to the destination region. Its core value is reorganizing the international path to avoid poor direct routing between the local network and a distant data center. For farther destinations such as the United States and Europe, relays are often used to balance connection stability with regional coverage.
A relay is not necessarily faster than a direct connection in every situation. The entry region, exit region, local network operator, and destination service location all affect the result. Match the destination region first, then compare actual performance among entry points in that region. If a relay works well for browsing but not for sustained transfers, switch to a backup route in the same region instead of changing client settings first.
Best for: long-distance access, regional content, and general everyday use
Direct routing
Direct Route
A direct route connects the current network straight to a server in the destination region without an additional relay. Its structure is simple and easy to expand, making it suitable for web browsing, research, short logins, and tasks requiring an exit in a specific city. Some nearby direct entry points with suitable routing can also provide a smooth everyday experience.
Direct performance depends more heavily on the public route between the current network and the destination data center. The same entry point may perform differently across regions, networks, or times of day. If connections take a long time to establish, page resources load incompletely, or long-lived connections drop, first try a relay entry point in the same region, then consider a closer region instead of repeatedly deleting the subscription or reinstalling the client.
Best for: web browsing, information lookup, and exits in a specific region

Route selection tips: start with the task, then check the region
The goal is not to stay with one route name forever, but to match the exit region, connection type, and current task. Use the following sequence when making a first connection.
Browsing
Everyday browsing and research
For regular websites, search, document reading, and short account logins, start with a nearby Asia-Pacific entry point. Shorter geographic distance generally makes it easier to establish a stable connection and avoids unnecessary intercontinental routing. Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, and South Korea can serve as starting points; adjust based on the target website’s region.
If the main page opens but images, scripts, or login components fail to load fully, the route between the current entry point and the destination service is often suboptimal. Switch to another route in the same region first. If the issue remains, use an entry point in the region where the destination service is primarily hosted. For everyday browsing, there is no need to switch repeatedly for the label alone; a stable completion of the task is what matters.
Streaming
Streaming services and extended playback
Streaming depends first on the content’s region, so identify the library you need before choosing the corresponding country or region. Entry points marked as supporting Streaming in the client should be preferred. Before starting playback, open the content details page to confirm that the account region, subtitles, and library meet expectations, then begin extended playback to avoid changing exits repeatedly mid-stream.
If playback starts but keeps buffering, switch within the same region from direct to relay or an IEPL dedicated line. If the page reports that the content is unavailable in your region, check for an old connection, browser cache, or an active background session instead of jumping continuously between countries. Streaming platforms change licensing and detection rules, so “supported” means the current route is suitable for the scenario; it does not mean every account will see exactly the same library.
AI
AI Tools and extended conversations
AI Tools often request login services, model APIs, file services, and static resources at the same time, so connection continuity matters more than opening a page once. Prefer a region explicitly supported by the tool and keep the same exit throughout a conversation or file-processing task. Frequent regional changes may trigger another login check or interrupt uploads and long responses.
For long text, file uploads, or waiting for generated results, try a relay or IEPL dedicated line first. For a short query, a stable entry point in a nearby region is usually enough. If the page opens but a submission gets no response, refresh the session and check the current exit region before switching to a backup route in the same region. Do not change several client parameters at once, or it will be difficult to identify the cause.
Gaming
Game login and region-server connections
For gaming, the region of the game server should come first. When connecting to a Japan region server, try a Japan entry point; for North America, choose the corresponding North American city. The closest entry point is not always the best choice, because the data still has to reach the game server’s region.
Game updates, account login, and actual matches may use different service addresses. Successful login does not mean the match route is suitable. If login works but match connections are unstable, switch connection types within the same country and pause large background syncs or video playback. VPNVS does not promise gaming performance based on fixed transient metrics; actual results depend on the local network, game-server status, and current routing.
Work
Remote work and file synchronization
Online meetings, code repositories, cloud documents, and enterprise systems often involve long sessions. When choosing a route, prioritize connection continuity rather than short-term page-opening speed. If a company service is hosted in a specific country, choose that region directly; without a clear regional requirement, start with a nearby relay or IEPL entry point.
Do not switch routes midway through a meeting or file transfer, as changing the exit may require the session to reconnect. For important tasks, prepare a backup entry point in the same region and complete the login beforehand. If the connection fails, save local content first, end the current session, and then switch routes. This is less likely to leave content unsynchronized than reconnecting repeatedly during a transfer.

When several regions and entry points are available, use a consistent process to narrow the options. Change only one condition at a time to make it easier to find a combination suited to the current network.
Destination region
First confirm where the service is located
For region-specific content, the exit should match the region where that content is available; for ordinary browsing, start with a nearby region. Region comes before the route label because the exit location directly affects content, account region, and the service’s available access. If the destination has no regional requirement, there is no need to choose a more distant intercontinental entry point.
Connection type
Then match the task duration
For short web visits, start with direct; for long-distance access, try a relay; for continuous tasks such as streaming, meetings, and long file transfers, compare IEPL dedicated lines first. Connection type describes the route structure, not a fixed ranking independent of region and network conditions. The effective choice is the route that suits the current task.
Test in practice
Check the result with the complete task
Do not judge a route only by whether the homepage opens. For Streaming, watch continuous playback; for AI Tools, complete one submission and receive a response; for work, confirm login and synchronization; for gaming, enter an actual game server. Keep other settings unchanged during testing so you can distinguish a route issue from an account-region issue or a change in the destination service.
Backup entry point
Keep an alternative in the same region
Route maintenance, public-routing changes, and platform updates can all affect the current entry point. Keep backup routes in the same region with different connection types for frequently used tasks. When switching, disconnect the original connection first, then select the backup entry point and establish a new session. This reduces regional changes and makes it easier to continue the current work.

A few boundaries of the route list
A route name is not a fixed physical path
Names in the client identify the region, city, and connection type. Internet routing changes with the access network, carrier arrangements, and destination service, so routes with the same name may feel different in different network environments. The route page omits transient latency, load, and bandwidth figures to avoid presenting short-term results as long-term guarantees. The meaningful test is whether the current route can reliably complete the task at hand.
Streaming support depends on the account and content region
Streaming support in the table means the entry point can be used for the relevant access scenario. The actual library is also affected by the account region, content licensing, app cache, and platform rules. If the exit region is correct but the content does not change, fully close the app, reconnect, and sign in again. Switching among several countries makes diagnosis harder; compare backup entry points within the target region first.
Switching routes does not require fetching the subscription again
When switching regions or connection types within the same subscription, you usually only need to disconnect the current connection in the client, select another entry point, and reconnect. If the list does not update, copy the subscription again from the user panel or refresh the subscription in the client. Keep the subscription link secure as an account credential and do not share it publicly. VPNVS registration does not require an email address; a username and password are sufficient.
Unlimited devices does not mean every task must share one exit
VPNVS supports unlimited devices online at once. When using multiple devices at home, choose entry points according to each device’s task: use a Streaming region on the TV, a work region on the computer, and a nearby entry point on the tablet. Devices do not need to stay in the same city. If several devices are transferring data continuously, prioritize stable routes for critical tasks and avoid frequently changing connections on devices in use.
Use the same route-selection logic across platforms
The service supports Windows / macOS / iOS / Android / Linux. Client interfaces differ by platform, but the decision order is the same: update the subscription, confirm the destination region, choose a connection type, then verify the actual task after connecting. Clients and subscriptions are obtained from the user panel; the routes page does not provide static installers or public subscription URLs.
